To Felix Sturm: I want a rematch

After recently hearing that Felix has announced the date of his next fight (April 13th) in Germany, I would like to make it known that I have still not heard anything of a rematch. I don’t know whether their team have discussed opponents but I am here Felix – ready and waiting. Felix has been a great champion, but both me and him know that night in Mannheim he did not beat me. Felix cannot beat me. He knows I am the better fighter and so I am not expecting him to offer me a rematch. You offered Randy Griffin one and the same to Matthew Macklin, so you have proved that you try and correct close fights (or losses) but I don’t think that the Sturm team are confident that you can win this one and as a result they and you will avoid me.

Kell Brook: I'm on The Right Pace To a Title Shot in 2012

And while Galarza showed good heart to survive as long as he did, he finally crumpled under the sheer volume and variety of Brook's punches. Promoter Eddie Hearn said Brook would fight for a world title in 2012. However, the welterweight division is brimming with world-class talent, with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in possession of two of the four major titles. The 25-year-old Brook, a former stable-mate of Naseem Hamed, is also keen on a match with former light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan, who has spoken of moving up a division.

"I've always boxed in Britain so to be have been here [in the United States] on a massive show is a great feeling," said Brook, who is now unbeaten in 26 fights.

"You'll be seeing me here again and there will be an even better performance. Boxing fans all round the world were watching this, I've hit a new audience now. There's no rush to go for a world title, it's about being brought on at the right pace and I trust Eddie Hearn and the team to get me there in the right way. It's only a matter of time but I'm not panicking."

Arthur Abraham To Face Farias in January 14th Return

King Arthur Abraham (32-3, 26 KOs) will make his hotly-anticipated comeback on January 14 when he takes on Argentina´s Pablo Oscar Natalio Farias in Offenburg, Germany. “We are looking forward to seeing Arthur back in the ring,” Team Sauerland General Manager Chris Meyer said. “We have found a tough opponent for him. The fight against Farias will be no walk in the park.” It will be Abraham´s first fight since losing to WBA Super-Middleweight Champion Andre Ward in the semi-finals of the Super Six World Boxing Classic.

“I want to put on a good fight for my fans,” King Arthur said. “Of course I have learned from my defeats. But now is the time to look ahead and get ready to fight again. I want to win back the hearts of my fans, and in order to do so, I need a convincing victory. January 14 will be the start of something new for me. I want to begin the new year with an exciting victory and then set my sights on a world title again.”

Farias (19-1, 11 KOs) has never been beaten by knockout or decision. His only loss was a disqualification when he punched after the “break”-command.

“We have analysed him on tape,” coach Ulli Wegner said. “He´s a tough guy with a lot of fighting spirit. He will be difficult to beat. But Arthur knows that he needs to put on a convincing performance. It will be an interesting encounter.” The fight will be contested above the middleweight limit.
